Don’t Miss the Run for the Water 10 Miler!

Don't Miss the Run for the Water 10 Miler!

Not too many races deserve the adjective “iconic,” but if any do, the Gazelle Foundation’s Run For The Water 5K, 10-Miler certainly does. Founded in 2006 by super-coach Gilbert Tuhabonye, the Run For The Water 5K, and 10-Miler has built 74 water systems in southwestern Burundi, serving more than 141,860 people, creating more than 5,411 jobs, and serving more than 68 schools, churches, and medical facilities! It’s hard not to get inspired by Tuhabonye’s mantra to “Run with joy” along Lady Bird Lake to bring hope to an area of the world where people walk miles to fetch water.

With a challenging course running alongside Lady Bird Lake, through nearby West Austin neighborhoods including Austin’s famed Scenic Loop and a finish that is flat and speedy, it's one of the most scenic races in all of Texas.
